On a temperate day in San Antonio, the AEHIS Fall Summit opened with a clairvoyant look into the Art of the Possible. Michael Ruiz’s well received keynote address delivered a bold prediction of the next ten years of healthcare IT. Ruiz framed industry disruption around several key measures in healthcare and IT, looking at Moore’s Law as well as the “Uberization” of healthcare delivery thanks to crafted digital experiences. His forecast set the tone of the two-day summit – that healthcare IT security, technology and applications leaders must account for and stay on top of the shifting forces in healthcare service delivery and patient experience.

Following the keynote, AEHIT and AEHIA members (our healthcare IT partners leading the way in Technology and Applications) joined AEHIS members for a “Hunt and Hack Challenge” organized and sponsored by First Healthcare Advisory Solutions. Members of all three CHIME affiliates scoured the hotel and hotel grounds for hidden access points – Wi-Fi hotspots named after famous Hollywood hospitals such as Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, Seattle Grace Hospital, and others. The winners of the competition, announced before our closing keynote on the following day, will have a donation made in their names to Direct Relief.

AEHIS members ended the night at the cozy Sunday House, where they enjoyed drinks and hors d’oeuvres until late into the evening. Scroll through our photo album below.
